||History:
Naoki started out as a cherry blossom tree with beautiful white flowers. He was planted in the courtyard of a paranoid fuedal lord who used the courtyard as a place to execute his rivals. The lord worried constantly about people being loyal to him and had anyone showing even the slightest sign of betrayal mercilessly slaughtered in the courtyard to serve as an example to anyone who might challenge him.

The blood from those unfortunate souls splashed on Naoki and tinted his flowers a light pink color. The blood seemed to make Naoki feel stronger. As time passed, he grew to crave it for himself. He craved it so deeply that he became able to move his branches, only able to capture small animals that ventured too close. Their blood did not satisfy him as much as human blood.

He waited for months, until one evening, a guard patrolling the grounds stopped and leaned against his trunk. It was the chance Naoki had been waiting for... He wrapped a thick branch around the man's throat and squeezed tightly until he heard a sickening crack. He had snapped the man's neck. He stabbed the man through the chest and started to drain his blood.

The guard's body was found the next day. This sent the lord into a panic. Someone had made it into his castle and had killed one of his guards. He reasoned that it would only be a matter of time before he met the same fate. He targeted a local merchant who had spoken out against his barbaric methods. He had the man killed immediately to secure his land and take the man's property for himself. However, the lord did not realize that the man's son was a samurai of incredible skill.

The young samurai heard of his father's death and the hands of the corrupt lord and swore to avenge his father's death. He rallied the downtrodden villagers and went to the lord's castle. The samurai dragged the man out and decapitated him at Naoki's roots. After the uprising ended, Naoki saw that his supply of blood would end. He felt he would die without his near-daily supply of blood. He used all of his strength and managed to take a human form. He stole the lord's clothing and fled the castle.

Naoki would wander, settling temporarily in places where he could feed. He moves every so often so that his true nature is not discovered.
