 Name: Kayetan Tsukino (his surname is taken from his father's side while he has a German first name)

 Nickname: Kaye, Kaye-kun, Kaye-chan

 Age: 18 (because it took some time for him to adjust to school after moving)

 Division: Magic user (ice element)


Kayetan is able to summon and manipulate ice. He can create a weapon/shield for himself to use to strike down his enemies. Kaye can also create sharp shards of ice to send flying at his opponents. He has to concentrate to aim with each shard. To save time, he creates a large group to send as a volley in the general direction of his enemy. This works well to weaken his enemy from a distance. When he's in for a longer fight, he can focus his magic and uses concentrated strikes to freeze small areas. This can cause these areas to shatter should he (or a teammate) strike them again with a regular hit. If he aims correctly, he can freeze the heart and cause it to stop. Using his ice magic is taxing on his body, even more so in summer. He'll usually feel a little tired after using his magic and need to rest afterwards. Excessive use of his magic will drop his body temperature...

 Healing. Kayetan uses his life energy to create a soothing healing frozen mist to heal an ally. It basically feels as though the wound is cooling because Kaye's ice affinity. His ability started as only using his ice magic to numb a wound like an anesthetic. As he began to experiment with his abilities, he found that adding more of his life force by using his ice magic as a medium, he could mend some wounds. The more serious the injury, the larger the toll his body takes. More severe injuries would put him close to death...



About his combat style: Kaye is better supporting an ally or team. He depends more on his speed than overall strength. That being said, his strength is average. He would rather weaken the enemy for his allies or cover while someone rests. He can hold his own, but his magic would take a toll on him.

 Biography: 
Parents’ history
Kayetan’s parents met while performing at a concert in Berlin. His mother is a violinist from Hamburg, Germany. His father is a cello player from Kyoto, Japan. Kayetan’s father was in Germany to study European music composition and play with the symphony there as a kind of exchange program offered by his college at the time. His father transferred over to college fulltime in Germany after falling in love with Kayetan’s mother. 

After a few years, they were married and Kayetan was born. His parents raised him while performing and traveling a bit throughout Europe. His parents taught him how to speak English and German, believing that it would make it easier for him to adapt to different places. 

Childhood
Kayetan grew up traveling to a few different places in Europe, and started playing violin and cello when he was 8. His parents wanted him to continue in their footsteps and made him practice diligently. He snuck away at times and sought his own adventures. He grew to enjoy the street performances as a change of pace from formal lessons his parents forced upon him. Kayetan’s parents see him as unruly, but he just wants to play music of his own choosing. 

He has tried his hand at performing, and has more fun when he plays in a less formal setting. Less stifling. 

He was 11 when he first discovered his ice abilities. He was able to only able to make one crystal, starting out about an inch long. As he practiced, he was able to gradually do more. He was 12 when he learned how to make a short ice blade. He used it to pretend that he was a warrior while playing outside.

Moving to Asteri Island
At age 13, Kayetan’s parents got a call from a hospital in Japan. His grandmother had recently been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). She required a caregiver, and Kayetan’s parents were the only family members that were able to take care of her. 

His grandmother had been fragile most of her life, suffering from bouts of pneumonia during recent years. She was almost 80 and had deteriorated rapidly after being diagnosed.

So his family moved during his 13th year. They were issued their cellphones only a few hours after their confirmed arrival since it was required that all citizens have one. He noticed that his cellphone looked a little different than the ones issued to his parents. It looked more advanced than theirs. Kayetan chalked it up to his parents choosing a more simple phone model for themselves. 


Kayetan didn't like his cellphone at first, thinking that it was a hassle to carry it with him all the time, but he warmed up to it after playing with the features on the phone. He likes listening to music with it. He also used it alot when trying to learn Japanese to find simple words to say to his grandmother and build his vocabulary. He now finds his phone to be very useful. He's still curious about the star emblem on the phone, wondering what kind of company has so much power as to require the entire island to carry their brand of cellphones.

Kayetan received a text message with an invitation to enroll in Star Crown High at age 17. His parents saw this as an excellent opportunity, thinking that SC High had a history of outstanding academic achievements. That, and his grandmother needed constant care that infringed on his parents’ attempts to homeschool him. He is expected to continue his music lessons at SC High. His parents chose his club for him. He was hoping to play basketball or be on the swim team.

His grandmother told him stories about what she had heard about the island when she was young. Kayetan's curiosity was piqued by the possibility of a huge conspiracy.She told him that one of her friends had seen some kind of grotesque shadow monster, but no one had believed her friend at the time. She didn't know it, but her friend had actually seen a remnant. All the adults at the time felt that it was a child's imagination, invisible friend gone sour, or the product of too many bedtime stories.

When Kayetan told his parents about the stories, his parents brushed off the stories as the ramblings of an old woman, but he believes that his grandmother's stories are true. He wants to find out for himself and sees it as an exciting mystery. He wants to find out for himself if there really are shadow monsters on the island. He fancies himself as a bit of an adventurer. 

His parents would be horrified if they found out Kayetan was fighting, especially involving hand-to-hand combat, as it could possibly injure his hands and prevent him from playing professionally in the future. Despite all the arguments with his parents, he still loves them greatly. He just wants to find his own path.

Relationships: 
Yasuharu, Pierrot- Kaye thinks Pierrot is quite skilled with his sword for being so young. He hadn't intended to have Pierrot accompany him to search for a remnant, but was quite happy to have him along for the adventure. Hopes to hang out with him more in the future. 

Fushieria, Sero- met him briefly, and wasn't too happy when Sero grabbed his arm. But he thinks Sero is a nice person 
Shiraishi, Akira- Doesn't care much for him, but supposes he's alright.

*He's played violin since he was 8. 
*He sometimes seems lazy because he has to rest after using his healing ability.

*He does not use his healing ability very often because it leaves him incapacitated until he can recover his lost life energy.
